The Covington Redevelopment Authority in partnership with the Covington Housing Authority is offering, FREE, an innovative counseling program designed to Redefine Your Finances, Redefine Your Life.
Participants in the Housing and Financial Counseling Program will learn the tools for successful financial management and homeownership in group sessions conducted once a week. Selected participants will also receive individual coaching once a week to help with budgeting, goal setting, saving, credit building, etc. Both the group and individual sessions will focus on teaching basic financial practices, preparing participants to become successful homeowners or independent renters.
Participants will graduate from the program prepared to meet the requirements of the local lending partners and various down payment assistance programs (CHIP, CHOICE, PEN, etc.). Those
participants who decide to delay home purchase will have the tools they need to become independent, responsible renters.
The 16 week program will be offered twice a year, spring and fall, on a first come – first served basis. Class size will be limited to 20 households.

While funding is available, the City of Covington can offer up to $14,999 in down payment assistance to qualified buyers. Applicants must complete the 16 week Household Finance and Homeownership program to qualify.
