APPLICATION PROCEDURES

Applicants must complete an application for each position. (The application will be available for download once the short electronic form below has been submitted.)  Once the application has been downloaded and printed, please follow the instructions with the application. All applications must be completed in full.  Because the initial screening is based strictly on the completed application, it is very important to include all information requested and to be as thorough as possible.  The application should include not only paid work experience, but all other experience which may apply to the job, i.e. volunteer experience, licenses, relevant classes you have taken, and professional training. Work involves fast, efficient and accurate receiving, dispatching and processing a variety of both emergency and routine calls and messages and maintaining routing, clerical and fiscal records and reports. All work is performed in accordance with Communication Center rules and regulations. Oral instructions are received from reports and records submitted.
SelectFireFirefighter$31,537 - $46,638 depending upon qualificationsThis is skilled work in combating, extinguishing and preventing fires, in answering emergency calls, providing emergency medical services and in the operation and routine custodial maintenance of department equipment, apparatus and quarters. Work involves training for and participating in duties of protecting life and property through the performance of fire fighting, emergency medical care and rescue activities. Employees of this class are required to learn and participate in the operation of apparatus and the performance of hazardous tasks under emergency conditions, which may require strenuous exertion under such handicaps as smoke, fire, heat, and cramped surroundings. Employees are required to perform routine duties in the custodial care and maintenance of department facilities, apparatus and equipment. Work is usually performed in accordance with explicit instructions, as well as defined procedures; however, performance of work requires initiative and a thorough understanding of fire fighting, emergency medical care and fire prevention principles and methods. **POSITION WILL REMAIN OPEN UNTIL FILLED**
