Land Use

In June 2008, the City of Covington adopted a new zoning ordinance. After well over 30 years of predominately single-use zoning, the Mayor and Council, after many public hearings and charrettes, moved the city toward a more sustainable form of zoning regulation. Covington's zoning ordinance regulates the city's land use by encouraging mixed-use development and incorporating a civic design element that governs physical form and encourages walkability.
