New Gas Service Lines
When appling for installation of a new gas service line with the City of Covington you will need to call customer service with your information and address the service will be installed. When the City receives an order for new service to be installed the gas superintedent will come out to the job site and measure the gas footage and quote a price. In most cases the first 75 feet will be free. The City normally does not charge a tap fee.
Prior to having a new service turned on, an application for service must be made by the person or company that will be responsible for the account. An inspection and approval of the customer's gas facilities by the inspection department of the city or county having jurisdiction will be required.
"Please advise us of the actual gas load so that adequate capacity will be provided. Addional furnances, pool heaters, tankless water heaters, etc. may affect the size of the service line and meter that will be needed."
