Department Information and Applications
The Planning and Zoning Department is responsible for reviewing permit applications, issuing permits, conducting inspections, collecting occupational taxes (business license), verifying zoning, and ensuring compliance with the City's Comprehensive Plan.
It is a violation of city code to begin any construction activity or start a business prior the appropriate permits.

For those starting a business within the City we ask that prior to you signing a lease please contact our department to schedule a compliance inspection. A compliance inspection informs you and the property owner of any and all property improvements that may be necessary by code before an occupational tax receipt (business license) is issued.
