1.               Call to order, invocation, and Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America.

 

-Mayor Johnston to administer the Oath of Office to new Covington Police Officers Brian Shockley and Matthew Torres.

-Introduction of new Covington Fire Chief Jeremy Holmes.

2.         Discussion of the minutes from the Regular Council Meeting held on July 2, 2018.

 

3.         Discussion of the final reading of an ordinance for the City of Covington:

 

“AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COVINGTON, GEORGIA, TO AMEND THE COVINGTON MUNICIPAL CODE, ENACTED AND ADOPTED ON THE 16TH DAY OF OCTOBER, 2001, AS AMENDED BY PREVIOUS AMENDMENTS, TO ALTER CERTAIN PROVISIONS OF TITLE 3 OF THE SAID CODE OF ORDINANCES FOR THE PURPOSE OF ADOPTING SECTION 03.12.070 (COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT TAX INCENTIVE PROGRAM) AS A PART OF CHAPTER 3.12 (PROPERTY TAX) THEREOF, TO REPEAL CONFLICTING ORDINANCES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.”

“AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COVINGTON, GEORGIA, TO AMEND THE COVINGTON MUNICIPAL CODE, ENACTED AND ADOPTED ON THE 16TH DAY OF OCTOBER, 2001, AS AMENDED BY PREVIOUS AMENDMENTS, TO ALTER CERTAIN PROVISIONS OF TITLE 15 OF THE SAID CODE OF ORDINANCES FOR THE PURPOSE OF AMENDING SECTION 5.04.020 (ADMINISTRATIVE PROCEDURES FOR ENFORCEMENT OF STATE MINIMUM STANDARDS CODES) OF CHAPTER 15.04 (CONSTRUCTION CODES) THEREOF, TO REPEAL CONFLICTING ORDINANCES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.”
