Michael Whatley         Post 2 East       Michael is serving on his third term with the Covington City Council, which began on January 1, 2000. He served as the Deputy Director of the Newton County Water and Sewerage Authority for 13 years prior to becoming a technical consultant to small water systems and operator certification trainer for the Georgia Rural Water Association, in 1996. Michael received his Public Administration degree from Clayton State College and University. He is also a member of First Presbyterian Church of Covington and Covington Elks Lodge #1806. He is a lifelong resident of Newton County and is married to Billie Jean Whatley.
