The
City of Covington has been providing
residents of Covington and Newton County with natural gas service
since 1956. The City is partnered with the Municipal
Gas Authority of Georgia and owns our own system. Whether you're
cooking your dinner, drying your laundry, heating your home, or bathing
your child, natural gas gives you many advantages - value, efficiency,
reliability, ependability, safety and comfort- for a whole lot less
than other energy sources. Natural gas is the dominant energy source
for home heating with more than 53% of American homes using gas. The
Gas Advantage Rebate Program offers rebates for the installation and

Rates pertaining to natural gas service is hereby amended in
the following particulars, as to wit:
(a) Subsection (b), Residential and small commercial service,
Schedule GR-SM, is amended by deleting the subparagraph thereof
entitled "Rate" in its entirety and substituting in
lieu thereof the following:
Rate:
Residential base service charge per month, minimum bill----$9.50
Small commercial base charge per month,
Minimum bill-----------------------------------------------$11.00
All consumption, per MCF-----------------------------------$6.55
