A hallmark of the City of Covington is its efforts in promoting fitness, greenspace preservation, and alternate modes of transportation through its multi-use trails movement. Trails are an opportunity for healthier living. Trails also offer an alternative means of transportation, increase adjacent property values, promote economic development, and preserve greenspace corridors for wildlife. At Turner Lake there are three miles of off road running and walking trails and there are also some great routes through the downtown and adjoining neighborhoods. There is also approximately six miles of concrete trails that connect Eastside High School with Turner Lake Park as they wind through downtown Covington.
A special quality of this community is the level of volunteerism. No matter what your interest may be, there is a community agency, civic club or a non-profit organization to share your time and talents with. To learn more, contact the City Council member from your ward.
