Covington Hometown 4th of July Parade

For the 250th birthday of America, the City of Covington and Discover Covington are excited to host a hometown parade which will be followed by a festival with music, food trucks, and activities in downtown Covington!

Parade entries will be capped at 65 entries and applications will close once we have reached 65 entries or on Friday, June 12, 2026, whichever comes first. Any entry we receive over 65 before applications close will be added to a waitlist. Allow 7-10 business days for your application to be approved/waitlisted. Please do not bring in/send payment until you receive a confirmation email that your entry has been accepted.

  • Please fill out & digitally sign and submit the application for the 2026 Covington Hometown Fourth of July Parade. 
  • Due to the festival immediately following the parade in the Square, horse entries are not allowed.
  • The non-refundable entry fee is $25.00. The nonrefundable fee, cash or check (made out to Discover Covington) only, is due by Friday, June 12, 2026 at the Covington Welcome Center, 1143 Oak Street SE, Covington, GA 30014. Your entry in the parade will not be secured without payment. If payment is not received by Friday, June 12, 2026, your spot will be relinquished to someone on the waiting list.
  • To be approved as a 2026 Covington 4th of July parade entry, you must completely fill out & sign the application including the entry description and AGREEING TO NO CANDY THROWING. Only family-friendly, patriotic entries allowed.
 
FLOAT DECOR: Your float must be decorated with a patriotic theme, celebrating America and its 250th birthday (you do not have to include 250 anywhere).

A map of the 4th of July Parade route will be posted once we secure all entries. The parade will start and finish at Newton Drive/Mill Street.


Immediately following the parade, City departments will remove barricades/barriers, and the festival will commence with music by Chris, Jon, and Scott from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.; food trucks; activities; and many businesses and restaurants around the Square will be OPEN!
